I think it is funny how foreigners want to spend most of their time under the sun just to get that tanned skin, while we, Filipinos who already have them normally, spend most of our time trying to get fairer. I have a friend who married a foreigner last year. On Monday, they will go to the beach to tan themselves. My friend is worried that the tan may be uneven cause she is not comfortable taking off all her clothes. I laughed at the idea. So I suggested that she use the airbrush systems instead. It has the same effect but is not as uneasy as being naked in the beach.

I am the kind of person who thinks twice before buying a product. I want to make sure that the products that I buy are worth the money that I spend. I do not alone trust advertisements, because of course, the company that produces the product will only showcase the good side of the product. That is why I take time in asking my friends about the product. I also “read customer reviews here” and there, to make sure that I have done enough research about the product. About 13 to 16 tornadoes hit Texas last week. It was one of the worst calamities ever experienced by the people of Texas. The news and videos showcased the ultimate power of the tornadoes. Heavy trucks went flying off the grounds, houses were damaged and many properties went crumbling down. Many could not believe what have happened. Many lives have also crashed, emotionally, psychologically, financially, all have been affected.

I worry for a friend of mine who is currently having difficulty paying her mortgage loans. She has been very close to me and I know that all these problems are because of her husband’s recent car accident. All their savings were used to pay for the surgery and the hospital bills. I suggested she consult a professional about this. I even told her structured settlements may be her best option. I know she is a strong woman and she can get over this obstacle soon. If anything happens, I will be here to help her. Besides, what are friends for, right?

I was reading a local newspaper a while ago and one of the featured stories in it was a woman who was arrested because she was not able to pay her debt. I feel pity for her because of two reasons, (1) because she would not be able to be with her family anymore, and (2) because there are a lot of ways of getting out of debt had she only seek for professional help. I do have any idea as to what her personal reasons are, but I hope she gets over this very soon, not only for herself but for all those who love her as well.
